What we are looking for

We are looking for drug discovery projects (novel drug targets, compounds) across a number of key biological pathways linking insulin resistance and NASH, and related to:
-Liver glucose and lipid uptake, metabolism and storage.
-Liver inflammation and fibrosis

Specific areas of interest:
-Insulin receptor activation and downstream signaling
-Glucose uptake (intestine and liver), utilization and storage
-Lipid uptake (intestine and liver), utilization and storage
-Metabolic flexibility
-Metabolic/oxidative stress, autophagy& UPR
-Heptatic low grade inflammation
-Immune cells recruitment & polarization
-Pathways of fibrogenesis
-Mechanisms of stellate cell activation
-Fibrinolytic mechanisms
-Regulated hepatocyte cell death


Prerequisites for project considerations:
-Target/pathway validation in place (in vitro and/or in vivo)
-Evidence for translation to humans (target/pathway modulation under disease conditions and/or genetic)
-Evidence for target drug-ability and establishing of a robust compound testing flow-scheme
-Rational for differentiation to marketed drugs
-Safety related to target/pathway modulation

What we offer and how does it work

All proposals will be assessed by our Research & Development team. Based on the level of interest within the Company research portfolio and strategic fit, we will enter into discussion with selected candidate(s), potentially leading to partnership agreements or collaborations.

Proponents that submit proposals of interest will be contacted within 8 weeks of submission to clarify additional details.

What to submit

Submit a proposal in a form which is available online (it takes about 15 minutes).The proposal should be brief, sufficient to provide the main body of the proposal and its innovativeness. The applicant should also provide information about his or her critical knowledge that is applicable for the project, and how the knowledge could be supplemented (i.e., what is additionally required to complete the project). The applicants are strongly encouraged to give us additional information including references or other materials to facilitate the evaluation process.
