External open innovation partner programPrevention/control of ketosis and/or hypocalcaemia in dairy cows
Metabolic disease is a key problem in the transition period of dairy cows. All peripartum dairy cattle experience: a period of insulin resistance, reduced feed intake, negative energy balance, lipolysis and weight loss in early lactation. Alongside this hypocalcaemia and ketosis affect cows with the higher incidence.
Managers of herds at high risks for ketosis have these options: orally drench propylene glycol, feed calcium propionate, feed rumen-protected choline prepartum and/or postpartum and/or feed monensin postpartum.
They are not able to prevent the disease properly.
We are looking for a solution for the prevention /control of ketosis and/or hypocalcaemia in Dairy cattle. The candidate project should have in vivo efficacy on lab animals (mandatory) & in vivo efficacy and safety studies on target animals (optional). Regarding intellectual property, we are interested in partnership with exclusive rights for veterinary applications.
